Marcy, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team traveled to SUNY Polytechnic Institute on Wednesday afternoon losing a 14-8 decision to the host Wildcats in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action. With the blank the Fighting Tigers now 2-7 overall with a 0-3 record in conference play while the Wildcats are now 6-4 including a 2-1 mark in NEAC action.
Once again a slow start cost the Fighting Tigers as the Orange & Black staked the Wildcats to an 8-1 advantage before a late first half rally cut the deficit to 8-3 at the break. The host Wildcats posted an advantage in shots of 51-to-28 on the afternoon including a 30-to-7 halftime advantage.
Once again senior attackman
Sean Degnan, Monroe, N.Y., Monroe-Woodbury High School, posted a strong outing with a pair of goals on the day as did senior attackman
Edwin Martinez, Brentwood, N.Y., Brentwood High School. Junior attackman/midfielder
Ed White, Utica, N.Y., Thomas R. Proctor High School, continued his solid play with a goal and a pair of assists while sophomore defender
Nick Dominic, Pittsford, N.Y., Pittsford High School, played a fine all-around game with a goal, 10 ground balls picked-up and five caused turnovers.
Cobleskill will return to action over the weekend when they host The Express of Wells College on Saturday April 13
th with face-off tentatively scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
