Marcy, N.Y.: With the fight for a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play-off bid and home seed on the line the SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Polytechnic Institute baseball team's worked overtime on Sunday afternoon battling for 14 innings and over four hours with the Fighting Tigers staging an epic comeback to out claw the Wildcats by a 12-10 margin. With the extra inning victory, Cobleskill improves to 14-16 overall on the season including an 8-5 mark in conference action while the Wildcats now fall to 8-22 overall with a 5-7 record in league contests.
After committing five errors to stake the Wildcats to a 7-0 lead through the first five innings the Fighting Tigers began their comeback effort with three runs in the top of the sixth and behind seven innings of long relief work from freshman
Jeremy Jenoure, Millbury, N.Y, Millbury High School, who went seven innings allowing only one earned run on one hit striking out four while walking only one.
Trailing going into the top of the ninth inning the Fighting Tigers used an error, a walk and a hit batter to load the bases bringing up junior left fielder Justin Maxwell, Newport, N.Y., Notre Dame High School, just activated from the disabled list, who promptly singled in a run to make it 7-5. Freshman third baseman
Frank Leger, Bronx, N.Y., All Hallows High School, then doubled home the tying runs with two outs to tie the game at 7-7.
After three more scoreless innings the Fighting Tigers pushed a run home in the top of the 13
th inning when with two outs freshman first baseman
Felix Pacheco, Bronx, N.Y., James Monroe High School, drew a walk then scored on a double by sophomore designated hitter
Jacob Hoffee, Lyndonville, N.Y., Lyndonville High School, which made it 8-7 at the time.
However in the bottom of the inning, the Wildcats took advantage of a walk and a wild pitch to tie the game on a sacrifice fly by junior shortstop Michael Cough, Utica, N.Y., Thomas R. Proctor High School, which tied the score at 8-8.
In the top of the fourteenth inning the Orange & Black finally solved Wildcat sophomore left hander Noah Valvo, Town of Wright, N.Y., Schoharie High School, scoring four runs highlighted by a sacrifice fly by Eddie Garcia, a RBI double by Justin Maxwell and a RBI single by
Frank Leger which led to a 12-8 Cobleskill advantage.
 In the bottom of the 14
th the Wildcats scored two runs and loaded the bases off freshman reliever
Kristopher Bulman, Williamson, N.Y., Williamson High School, who worked out of a bases loaded jam to preserve the victory for the visitors.
The Fighting Tigers and Wildcats will return to action on Monday afternoon when Cobleskill returns to Marcy, N.Y. for a doubleheader versus SUNY Polytechnic beginning at 12:00 p.m.
