Old Westbury, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team opened the season on Saturday afternoon by dropping a 4-2 decision the host Panthers of The College of Old Westbury. With the loss the Fighting Tigers open the season with a 0-1 overall record while the Panthers are now 1-0 on the campaign to date.
Sophomore forward
Chloe Antalek, Wappingers Falls, N.Y. , Beacon High School, scored in the 2
nd minute of play on a long range blast to give Cobleskill the lead at 1-0. Freshman midfielder
Anna Post,Bovina Center, N.Y., Delaware Academy, also scored her first collegiate goal for the visitors in the 12
th minute unassisted from short range to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.
However from that point on the Panthers took control of the contest tallying three times while holding a 14-7 advantage in shots along with a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks to secure the victory.
The Orange & Black will continue their downstate road trip on Sunday September 1
st when they travel to Brooklyn, N.Y. to meet the host Cannoneers of the Pratt Institute in a game to be played at the Aviator Sports Center beginning at 2:00 p.m.
