Fighting Tigers Lose 3-0 Decision to Host Elms College at Blazer Invitational

Mikayla Catherman Named to Blazer Invitational All-Tournament Team


Chicopee, Mass.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision to  tournament host Lighting of Elms College in their final game of the 2019 Blazer Invitational on Saturday by scores of 25-22, 25-14 and 25-19. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 1-2 overall on the season.

Cobleskill received strong individual efforts from junior setter Maleigha Ellithorpe, Cazenovia, N.Y., Cazenovia High School/Onondaga Community College, with 12 assists, 13 digs and a kill and senior libero Mikayla Catherman, Marietta, N.Y., Marcellus High School, who tallied 13 digs, a kill and a service ace in the match.

For her play at the event, Mikayla Catherman was named to 2019 Blazer Invitational All-Tournament Team by the tournament's coaches and event staff.  

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Tuesday September 3rd when they travel to Castleton, Vt. for a non-league contest versus the Spartans of Castleton University beginning at 7:00 p.m.
