Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team returned home on Saturday afternoon to Iorio Gymnasium to drop a hard fought contest to The Express of Wells College by a 3-0 margin in set scores of: 25-17, 27-25 and 26-24. With the loss the Fighting Tigers are now 6-7 overall on the season to date including a 0-3 mark in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play while the Express is now 3-14 overall on the year with a 2-1 mark in league action.
The Cobleskill duo of middle hitters junior
Rachel Burke, West Winfield, N.Y., Mt. Markham High School, and sophomore Jillian Nitchman, Ballston Spa, N.Y., Ballston Spa High School, led the Fighting Tigers in the match with Burke tallying seven kills and four total blocks while Nitchman had six kills and three total blocks on the afternoon.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Tuesday October 1
st when they host the Wildcats of Bay Path College in non-league action beginning at 7:00 p.m.
