Abington, Pa.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team returned to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action on Saturday afternoon traveling to Pennsylvania to lose to the host Nittany Lions of Penn State Abington by a 67-63 margin in league action. With the defeat the Fighting Tigers are now 6-5 overall including a 1-1 mark in NEAC action while the Nittany Lions improve to 4-6 overall with a 2-0 record in conference play.
After trailing for most of the afternoon the Fighting Tigers grabbed a five-point advantage when freshman guard/forward
Megan Hughes, Warrensburg, N.Y., Warrensburg High School, converted on a lay-up with 2:34 left in regulation to make it 63-58 Cobleskill.
However that would be the last points for the visitors in the contest as down the stretch the Nittany Lions' defense would stiffen holding the Fighting Tigers to 0-for-5 from the field to secure the come from behind conference win on the strength of a 9-0 run to close out the action.

Anna Post, Bovina Center, N.Y., Delaware Academy, posted a double/double to lead Cobleskill in scoring with 21 points and rebounding with 12 boards in the contest while sophomore guard
TyLysa Martinez, Coram, N.Y., Longwood High School, contributed 15 points to go with five rebounds on the day. The visitors also received eight points and three rebounds from
Megan Hughes and nine points and three rebounds from junior guard
Nylasia Sutton, Queens, N.Y., Lansingburgh High School/Herkimer Community College, in the loss. Â Â
The Orange & Black will conclude the Pennsylvania road trip on Sunday afternoon, when they travel to Harrisburg, Pa. to meet the Nittany Lions of Penn State Harrisburg with tip-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
