Cobleskill, N.Y.: With the race for the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play-offs heating up, the SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team lost a 68-51 decision to the visiting defending champion Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic Institute at the Iorio Gymnasium on Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Fighting Tigers are currently 8-7 overall including a 3-3 mark in conference play while the Wildcats now move to 8-7 overall with a perfect 6-0 conference record.
The Fighting Tigers jumped out to an early 15-5 lead on the defending champions and held a 19-15 advantage at the end of the first quarter. However that would be the extent the good news for the home team as Cobleskill scored only 36 more points in the contest connecting on only 18-of-59, 30.5%, from the field including 4-for-19, 21.1%, from three-point range.

Nylasia Sutton, Queens, N.Y., Lansingburgh High School/Herkimer Community College, led the team in scoring with 14 points on the evening to go with four assists and three rebounds while senior center
Gabby Muraczewski, Hamilton Square, N.J., Southern Regional High School, chipped in nine points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots on the evening.
The Orange & Black will next be in action on Saturday January 25
th when they travel to Morrisville, N.Y. for a NEAC meeting with the Mustangs of Morrisville State with tip-off slated for 3:00 p.m.
