Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team returned to action on Wednesday evening losing a 20-5 road decision to the host Raptors of Bard College in non-league action. With the loss the Fighting Tigers are currently 0-2 overall on the year while the Raptors are now even overall at 2-2 on the season.
Cobleskill trailed the host Raptors 2-1 after the first quarter before the home team went on a 7-1 run in the second quarter to take a 9-2 lead into half-time from which they never looked back.
Despite winning the ground ball battle 47-46, taking 17-of-29 face-off opportunities and putting 26 shots on goal; the Fighting Tigers could not find the back of the Raptors net enough to mount a serious comeback.
Once again senior midfielder
Kieran Tierney, Marcellus, N.Y., Marcellus High School, turned in an exceptional offensive effort for Cobleskill with four goals, an assist and six ground balls while freshman
Jordan Van Buren, Niskayuna, N.Y., Niskayuna High School, scored a goal and picked up six ground balls on the evening.
Defensively junior defender
Nick Dominic, Pittsford, N.Y., Pittsford High School, picked up a game high of 14 ground balls to go with five caused turnovers for the visitors.
The Orange & Black are next tentatively scheduled to travel to Purchase, N.Y. on Saturday March 14
th to face the Panthers of SUNY Purchase in non-league action with face-off slated for 12:00 p.m.
