Cazenovia, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team opened their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) weekend road trip on Friday evening by dropping a hard-fought decision to the host Wildcats of Cazenovia College 3-2 by set scores of: 25-20, 23-25, 25-17 13-25 and 13-15. With the loss the Fighting Tigers are now 6-11 overall on the year with a 2-3 record in conference action while the Wildcats improve to 3-15 overall including a 2-5 record in NAC play.

In a match that saw each team battle through extended volleys and relinquish early leads the Fighting Tigers proved to be their own worst enemies in the fourth and fifth sets committing multiple attack, receiving and service errors at critical points of the deciding sets.

Cobleskill did receive strong efforts up front from sophomore outside hitter MacKenzie Larson, Winterset, Iowa, Winterset High School, who tallied 15 kills, 28 digs and three service aces on the evening and from sophomore middle hitter Alexis Miranda, Nashua, N.H., Nashua High School, turned in a 14 kill, eight dig, six total block effort in the loss.

The Orange & Black will conclude their weekend road trip on Saturday, October 16, when they travel to Canton, N.Y. to meet the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton for a league contest beginning at 1:00 p.m.
