Springfield, Mass.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's cross country team closed out their regular season in impressive fashion on Saturday by winning their fifth invitational race of the year at the 2021 Western New England University Invitational hosted by the Golden Bears on their campus cross country course. The Fighting Tigers posted a team score of 27 points to outdistance a field of 12 teams at the event.
Freshman
Eamonn Sullivan, Wappingers Falls, N.Y., Fordham Prep., led the way for the Orange & Black posting his fifth individual invitational victory of the year covering the 8000-meter course in a time of 26:04 followed by sophomore
Nick Logan, Queensbury, N.Y., Queensbury High School, in second in 26:45 while senior
Dillon VanDemortel, Newark, N.Y., Newark High School, placed third with a time of 26:47 in the 112 runner field to secure the victory.
The Cobleskill scoring was rounded out by senior
Jared Craw, Colonie, N.Y., Colonie High School/Hudson Valley Community College, in seventh place in 27:30 and by freshman
Shane Viscosi, Fultonville, N.Y., Fonda-Fultonville High School, in 14
th place with a time of 28:40.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday October 30 when they travel to Waterville, Maine for the 2021 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships hosted by Thomas College on the Terriers campus cross country course beginning at 11:00 a.m.
