Oneonta, NY – Men's Basketball fall 66-104 vs. Worcester State in a non-conference matchup at the Quality Inn Tournament hosted by SUNY Oneonta. The Tigers drop to 0-3 on the season while the Lancers improve to 2-2.
Senior
Juwan Malone (Brooklyn, NY) was the Tigers leading scorer with 18 points. Malone rained in 3 3-pointers and shot 7-16 from the field. Freshman
Sharaim Best (Valley Stream, NY) added 17 points on 6-10 shooting with 2 assists for Cobleskill.
Big man
Jeremiah Hewitt (Brooklyn, NY) led the Tigers on the broads with 6 rebounds.
The Tigers scored the first five points of the game and jumped out to an 8-2 lead at the 17:32 mark after a made 3-pointer by
Juwan Malone. However, the Lancers turned up the pressure and went on a 29-3 run to take the lead 31-11 with 6:37 left to play in the first half.
Worcester State took the lead going into the half 47-21.
After the half the Tigers offense started to click more, but the Lancers continued to control the pace of the game and outscored Cobleskill 57-45 in the second half. The final score ended up 104-66 in favor of the Lancers of Worcester State.
Cobleskill finished the contest shooting 31.6 percent while the Lancers shot it at 50 percent. Worcester State held a 63-34 rebound edge including an 13-7 on the offensive glass.
The Tigers are in action again on November 16
th, at 7:00 pm. They will host the visiting Bryant & Stratton College at the Iorio Gymnasium in a non-conference matchup.
