Castleton, Vt.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team opened the 2021 season by dropping a 109-78 decision to the host Spartans of Castleton University in non-conference action. With the loss the Fighting Tigers open the season at 0-1 overall while the host Spartans improve to 21 on the season to date.
The Spartans struck early and often taking a 64-20 halftime lead into locker room from which they never looked back as the home team connected on 11-of-27 three-point attempts, 40.7%, and forced 19 turnovers to secure the victory.

Cobleskill will next be in action over the weekend when they travel to Oneonta, N.Y., on Friday November 12 and Saturday November 13 for the Quality Inn Tournament hosted by SUNY Oneonta. The Orange & Black will open the tournament on Friday evening versus the host Red Dragons against the host Red Dragons of SUNY Oneonta beginning at 7:30 p.m. before meeting either the Gators of Sage College or the Lancers of Worcester State College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the tournament's championship or consolation round depending on the outcome of Friday evening's contests.
