Marcy, N.Y.: After several pandemic related cancellations the SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team returned to the court on Saturday to drop a 103-71 decision to the host Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute in North Atlantic Conference (NAC). With the defeat the Fighting Tigers fall to 2-12 overall on the campaign with a 1-4 record in league play while the Wildcats are now 12-6 overall including a 7-1 mark in conference action.
The Wildcats used a pronounced size advantage to their advantage throughout the contest connecting on 37-of-62 shots from the field, 59.7%, including 9-of-14 from three-point range, 64.3%, while hitting on 20-of-28, 71.4%, from the free throw line to secure the victory. The home team also won the battle of the boards by a 48-to-30 margin on the afternoon.
Senior forward
Juwan Malone, Brooklyn, N.Y., Brooklyn Collegiate High School/Fulton-Montgomery Community College, led the visitors in scoring with 23 points along with three rebounds and a pair of blocked shots while junior forward
Justin Feldman, Chester, N.Y., Chester High School/Orange Community College, chipped in 13 points to go with four rebounds and three assists. Cobleskill also received 10 points off the bench from freshman guard
Mekhi Woodbury, White Plains, N.Y., White Plains High School.
The Orange & Black will next be in action on Monday January 24 when they host the Cougars of Misericordia University for non-league game with tip-off scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
