Cobleskill, N.Y.: Following an extended winter break due to health and safety protocols, the SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team returned to action on Sunday dropping a 60-56 decision to the visiting Mariners of Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 7-6 overall on the year including a 3-1 record in league play while the Mariners are now 9-2 overall with a 3-0 mark in NAC contests.
Trailing 35-24 at the half the Fighting Tigers battled throughout the second half cutting the Mariners lead to 58-56 with only six seconds remaining in regulation. However, after a necessitated foul the visitors connected on a pair of free throws to close out the afternoon's scoring at 60-56.

Hannah Cater, Schoharie, N.Y., Schoharie High School, paced the Orange & Black with a game high 18 points to go with four rebounds and a blocked shot while sophomore guard
Taylor Meacham, Berne, N.Y., Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School, scored seven points and passed while seven assists with first-year guard
Annie Canales, North Adams, Mass, Hoosac Valley High School, chipping in nine points on the afternoon.
The Fighting Tigers a next scheduled to be in action on Friday January 14 they travel to Farmington, Maine to meet the Beavers of the University of Maine-Farmington for a NAC showdown with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
