Utica, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team closed out the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) regular season by splitting a pair of games at a NAC triangular event hosted by the Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute and featuring the Broncos of SUNY Delhi. The Fighting Tigers opened the day by defeating the host Wildcats 3-0 by set scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-19 then losing to the Broncos 3-0 by set scores of 25-21, 27-25 and 25-16. With the split Cobleskill moves to 5-15 overall on the season with a 3-5 record in NAC action.
In the opening match the Fighting Tigers were led upfront by junior outside hitter
Alexis Miranda, Nashua, N.H., Nashua North High School, who had a team high of 13 kills and by junior libero
MacKenzie Larson, Winterset, Iowa, Winterset High School, who had 18 digs, five service aces and three assists in the win. Junior outside hitter
Abigail Scheurich, Oxford, Conn., Nonnewaug High School, was also a factor in the win with eight kills and nine digs.
In the finale, Cobleskill received nine kills and four digs from
Abigail Scheurich and nine kills from
Alexis Miranda while junior setter
Kasey Orlowski, Hewitt, N.J., West Milford High School, had 11 assists and a kill.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Tuesday October 25 when they travel to North Adams, Mass. for a non-conference meeting with the Trailblazers of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) with first serve at 7:00 p.m. Ā
