Cobleskill, N.Y: In their final home contest of the season the SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought decision on Wednesday evening to the visiting Raptors of Bard College 3-1 by set scores of 25-20, 25-13, 14-25 and 26-24 in non-conference play. With the loss the Fighting Tigers are now 5-17 overall on the year while the Raptors improve to 7-16 overall.
After dropping the first two sets Cobleskill came roaring back in the third set behind the serving of junior defensive specialist
Victoria O'Bar, Middlebury, Conn., Nonnewaug High School, and the play at the net of junior outside hitters
Alexis Miranda, Nashua, N.H., Nashua North High School, and junior
Abigail Scheurich, Oxford, Conn., Nonnewaug High School, to make the set score 2-1.
Trailing 20-15 in the fourth set Cobleskill rallied behind Miranda who posted six kills in a run that saw the home team tie the contest at 23-23. Then after the Raptors pulled ahead at 24-23 prior to Scheurich tying the match again with a kill to make it 24-24.
However, that would be as close as the Fighting Tigers would come as the visitors scored on the net two possessions to secure the victory.

Alexis Miranda posted a match high of 18 kills to go with four digs while
Abigail Scheurich added 14 kills and three service aces on the evening. Junior libero
MacKenzie Larson, Winterset, Iowa, Winterset High School, led the defense with 25 digs along with three assists and three service aces with
Victoria O'Bar adding 11 digs and four service aces.
Junior setter
Kasey Orlowski, Hewitt, N.J., West Milford High School, was also a factor in the match for the Orange & Black with 25 assists and eight digs.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday October 29 when they travel to Delhi, N.Y. for the opening round of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Western Division Tournament versus the host SUNY Delhi Broncos with first serve at 2:00 p.m.
