North Adams, Mass.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball continued the winning ways by defeating the host Trailblazers of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) on Tuesday evening in non-league action by a score of 74-52. With the win the Fighting Tigers even their record at 3-3 overall on the season while the Trailblazers fall to 2-5 overall on the year.
The Fighting Tigers used a strong defensive effort holding MCLA to only 12-of-55, 21.8%, from the floor while forcing the home team into 20 turnovers on the evening coupled with a 51-41 advantage on the boards to secure the victory.
First-year guard
Talia Washington, Schenectady, N.Y., Schenectady High School, led the way for the visitors with 20 points and six assists while first-year center/forward
Emily Satterday, Latham, N.Y., Shaker High School, posted her sixth consecutive double/double of the year with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore guard
Annie Canales, North Adams, Mass., Hoosic High School, returned to her home town in style with 14 points on the night while senior center
Jordan Finch had seven points and four rebounds in the win.
Cobleskill will next be in action after the Thanksgiving holiday when they host the Gators of Russell Sage College at the Iorio Gymnasium with tip-off at 5:30 p.m. Â
