Canton, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team closed their regular season by losing to the host Kangaroos of SUNY Canton in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play by a 95-71 margin. With the loss the Fighting Tigers close the regular season at 3-19 overall including a 2-10 conference record while the Kangaroos close the regular season 12-11 overall record with a 7-4 mark in NAC play.
Once again, the backboard proved to play a major role in the contest as the Kangaroos held a 52-to-31 advantage on the glass which translated into 28 second chance points.
The Fighting Tigers were led in scoring by junior swingman
Kevin Cadet, Roselle, N.J., Roselle Park High School, who scored 15 points to go with three rebounds in a reserve role. Senior point guard Mike McCoy, Charlotte, N.C., Statesville Christian High School, added 14 points and four assists on the afternoon for the visitors while sophomore
Naphtali Regilus, Roselle, N.J., Abraham Clark High School/Essex Community College, also scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds in the contest.
Cobleskill is now slated to open the NAC Tournament on Tuesday February 15 when they will return to SUNY Canton for a return engagement in Canton, N.Y. at a time still to be determined.
