Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team returned to the Iorio Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon to defeat the visiting Wildcats of Cazenovia College 84-74 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play and end a four-four game losing streak. With the win the Fighting Tigers are now 3-15 overall on the season with a 2-6 record in conference games while the Wildcats drop to 6-16 overall including a 1-10 record in conference contests.
The Fighting Tigers used an effective fast break attack, 26 points in transition, and stellar bench play, 31 points and 11 rebounds, to secure the home victory over the Wildcats.
Once again senior forward Juwan, Malone, Brooklyn, N.Y., Brooklyn Collegiate High School/Fulton-Montgomery Community College, filled the stat sheet to lead Cobleskill to victory with a game high of 21 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots.
The home team also received 13 points and seven rebounds from sophomore forward
Naphtali Regilus, Roselle, N.J., Abraham Clark High School/Essex Community College, and a 14 point, six rebound, two assist effort off the bench from junior swingman
Kevin Cadet, Roselle, N.J., Roselle Park High School, to claim the conference victory.
The Orange & Black will return to action on Sunday February 6 when they host the Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute in league play with tip-off slated for 12:00 p.m.
