Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team returned home on Saturday to celebrate "Senior Day" by posting a decisive 74-37 win over the visiting Wildcats of Cazenovia College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action at the Iorio Gymnasium. With the victory the Fighting Tigers even their overall record at 10-10 on the year including a 5-3 record versus NAC opponents while the Wildcats fall to 3-18 overall with a 1-10 record in league play.
Cobleskill raced out to a 38-13 halftime advantage and never looked back as the Fighting Tigers showed balanced score and depth to post 39-to-5 advantage in bench scoring to secure the victory.
The Orange & Black were led by sophomore forward
Hannah Cater, Schoharie, N.Y., Schoharie High School, who scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds and by sophomore center/forward
Logan Thayne, Hoosic Falls, N.Y., Hoosic Falls High School, who added 13 points, four rebounds and three blocked shots. First-year guard
Annie Canales, North Adams, Mass., Hoosac High School, also turned in a strong performance with 11 points and three points in a reserve role.
Cobleskill will return to NAC play on Sunday February 6 when they host the Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute with tip-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
