Cobleskill, N.Y.: In a game that could play a significant role in the North Atlantic Conference's (NAC) Championship Tournament's Western Division seeding, the SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team lost to the visiting Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute in league play by a 56-51 margin. With the defeat the Fighting Tigers drop to 10-11 overall on the season with a NAC record of 5-4 while the Wildcats are now 15-9 overall including a 10-2 record in conference play.
In a hard-hitting defensive battle, the Wildcats held Cobleskill to 21-66 from the field, 31.8%, including 3-17, 17.6%, with Cobleskill limiting SUNY Poly to 19-of-53, 35.8%, from the field and 5-of-17, 29.4%, from three-point range. The visitors held a decided advantage over the Fighting Tigers on the backboards by a 49-36 margin while Cobleskill forced the Wildcats into 24 turnovers on the afternoon.

TyLysa Martinez, Coram, N.Y., Longwood High School, led the way for the Orange & Black with nine points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals while first-year guard
Keyara Maxwell, Middletown, N.Y., Middletown High School, chipped in nine points, three rebounds and three assists on the day.
Cobleskill will return to NAC action on Tuesday February 8 when they travel to Cazenovia, N.Y. for a meeting with the Wildcats of Cazenovia College with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
