Oneonta, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team split a pair of non-league games on Wednesday versus the Gators of Russell Sage College in a doubleheader played at SUNY Oneonta's Red Dragon Field taking the first game by a 10-4 margin prior to dropping the nightcap by a score of 4-1. With the split the Fighting Tigers move to 4-3 overall on the season while the Gators are now 2-8 overall on the season to date.

Samuel Gutierrez, Bayside, N.Y., Martin Van Buren High School, Queensborough Community College, 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored powered the offense. First year designated hitter
Chris Champlin, Jefferson, N.Y., South Kortright High School, was also a factor in the win going 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored.

Wyatt Palmer, Camden, N.Y., Camden High School/Cayuga Community College, earned the win going four innings allowing four unearned runs on five hits striking out two and walking no one to even his record at 1-1 overall on the season.

Ethan Straub, Oswego, N.Y., Mexico High School/Jefferson Community College, was a hard-luck loser allowing only one earned run in five innings of work.
Fighting Tiger hitters fell prey to Gator junior right hander Will Simkin, Canberra, Australia, Canberra Grammar School, who held Cobleskill's offense to one earned run on six hits while striking out six and walking two to post the win.

Logan Hutter, Smithtown, N.Y., Smithtown West High School, turning in a 2-for-3 effort at the plate.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action next week when they travel to Florida for their annual Spring Break trip competing at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. Cobleskill will open play on Sunday March 20 when they meet the Ephs of Williams College for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. Â
