Davenport, Florida: For the second consecutive day the SUNY Cobleskill baseball team split a twinbill at the 2022 RussMatt College Baseball Invitational this time splitting a pair of games with the Vikings of Lawrence University from Appleton, Wisconsin losing the first game 20-5 then taking the second game 4-2. With the split the Fighting Tigers improve to 6-5 overall on the year while the Vikings move to 4-3 overall.
In the opener the Vikings rocked Fighting Tiger pitching for their season high of 20 runs on 16 hits holding a 14-2 lead after four innings from which they never looked back.
First year centerfielder
Zach Ducorsky, Oceanside, N.Y., Oceanside High School, continued his strong hitting going 2-for-3with an RBI with first year left fielder
Trevor Grieb, Red Hook, N.Y., Red Hook High School, going 1-for-2 with a RBI and a run scored.
The second game took a completely difference turn as Cobleskill scored three times in the first inning as senior shortstop
Eddy Garcia, Bronx, N.Y., World View High School, singled home left fielder

After a rocky effort in the opener, the Fighting Tiger pitching staff bounced back to hold the Viking offense in check as first year starter
Wyatt Palmer, Camden, N.Y., Camden High School, went five innings allowing two earned runs on four hits striking out four to improve his record to 2-1 overall with senior reliever
Manielvic Diplan, Peekskill, N.Y., Peekskill High School, working two scoreless innings to earn his first save of the year.
At the plate
Trevor Grieb stayed hot in the lead-off spot going 2-for-4 with a run scored while
Eddy Garcia went 1-for-4 with a RBI and the steal of home. Senior third baseman
Frank Leger, Bronx, N.Y., All Hallows High School, was also a factor in the game going 1-for-2 with a double and a RBI.
The Fighting Tigers will continue their Florida road trip on Tuesday when they face the Bantams of Trinity College of Connecticut for a solo contest beginning at 10:00 a.m.
