Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team returned to the friendly confines of their home Soccer/Lax Complex on Thursday afternoon to down the visiting Highlanders of Carin University by a 15-7 margin in non-conference action. With the victory the Fighting Tigers move to 2-3 overall on the year while the Highlanders now fall to 0-5 overall on the year.
The Fighting Tigers were 10-7 heading into the fourth period when the using a combination of stingy defense and hard charging offense to post a 5-0 advantage during the quarter to topple the Highlanders by forcing nine Carin turnovers while taking five-of-six face-off opportunities while outshooting their guests 16-10 in the stanza.

John Williams, Smyrna, Del., Smyrna High School, once again proved to be the defensive key to the victory as the rookie net defender racked up 22 saves on the afternoon to stifle the Carin offense.
Offensively sophomore attackman
Gregory Neumann, Accord, N.Y., Rondout Valley High School, led the Fighting Tigers with five goals and an assist to go with five ground balls while junior midfielder
Giovanni Bevacqua, Newtown, N.J. Newtown High School, struck for three goals, an assist along with three ground balls. Senior attackman
Kerry Blackwood, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School/Hudson Valley Community College, notched a pair of goals, an assist and seven ground balls on the day.
The Orange & Black also received strong outings from sophomore midfielder
Sean D'Amaro, Northport, N.Y., Northport High School, with two goals and three assists, sophomore attackman
Aaron Brooks, Geneva, N.Y., Geneva High School, with two goals and from sophomore midfielder
Sean McMahan, Clifton Park, N.Y., Shenendehowa High School, who had a goal, an assist and seven ground balls. First year midfielder
Albert Sippio, Syracuse, N.Y., Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central, continued to impress winning 10-of-11 face-offs while passing out two assists and picking up six ground balls in the victory.
Cobleskill is next scheduled to be in action on Saturday April 2 when they host the Valiants of Manhattanville College with face-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Ā
