Poughkeepsie, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 road decision to the host Brewers of Vassar College on Wednesday afternoon. With the non-league loss, the Fighting Tigers fall to 0-3 overall on the season while Vassar moves to 2-1 overall on the campaign.

The Fighting Tigers played the contest down five starters due to class conflicts, Cobleskill was able to give a number of younger players chances to play against the Brewers who are a perennial regional power.

Despite allowing five goals, senior goalie John Gergen, Greenville, N.Y., Greenville High School, made 10 saves and made several solid defensive plays in the field for the visitors.

Cobleskill will return home on Saturday September 10 for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference match with the Pioneers of Alfred State College followed on Sunday with a meeting with the Pioneers of Utica College at 12:00 p.m.
