Fighting Tiger Men's Soccer Dominates Action in 10-0 NAC Win at Vermont State-Lyndon

Derek Streeter Leads Fighting Tiger Soccer Past VTSU-Lyndon 10-0 in NAC Action


 
Lyndon, Vt.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team closed out their weekend North Atlantic Conference (NAC) road trip on Sunday afternoon in impressive fashion defeating the host Hornets of Vermont State University-Lyndon by a 10-0 margin in league action. With the victory the Fighting Tigers improve to 4-6-1 overall including a 2-3 record in league action while the Hornets are now 0-11 overall with a 0-5 record in conference play.
 
The Fighting Tigers dominated the action from the opening kick-off scoring early and often to take a 5-0 lead at the half from which they never looked back. Cobleskill outshot the home team by a 37-2 margin on the day.
 
Senior midfielder Derek Streeter, Ilion, N.Y., Central Valley Academy, led the team's offensive assault tallying three goals and a pair of assists on the afternoon while freshman forward Declan McCracken, South Kortright, N.Y., South Kortright High School, came off the sidelines to score twice.
 
Cobleskill also received scoring efforts from junior forward Cody Petschko, New Hyde Park, N.Y., Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, and senior forward Nicholas DePaulo, Colonie, N.Y., Colonie High School, who each had a goal and an assist on the afternoon while freshman midfielder John Posanti, West Islip, N.Y., West Islip High School, junior midfielder Luke Tebsherany, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., Fox Lane High School, and sophomore forward Trevor Masocco, Edan, N.Y., Eden High School, each tallied once for the visitors.
 
First-year goalkeeper Adam Champlin, South Kortight, N.Y., South Kortright High School, started the game and was credited with the victory with relief help from first-year keeper Joe Wille, Gilboa, N.Y., Gilboa High School, who had a save during the second half.
 
The Orange & Black will return to action on Saturday October 14 when they travel to Utica, N.Y. to meet the Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute in NAC play with kick-off scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
