Elmira, NY: The Cobleskill men's basketball team had five players score in double figures as they returned to their winning ways with a 98-86 road win over Elmira College. The Fighting Tigers improve to 3-1 on the season while the Soaring Eagles of Elmira College drop to 1-1 overall.
Kobe Long (Rochester, NY/McQuaid Jesuit) led the Tigers with a game-high 27 points on 8-13 shooting. Senior
Iziah Pigott (Brooklyn, NY/Adams Street Academy) filled the stat sheet with 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a steal. Sophomore
Jeremy Rosario (Colonie, NY) chipped in 16 points, five rebounds and four assists and two steals.
Chalik Oxley (Manhattan, NY/Graphic Arts) was the force on the boards bringing down a team-high nine rebounds and 10 points and
Quanire Greene (Albany, NY/Bishop Maginn) added a spark off the bench with 10 points.
The beginning of the first half saw a back-and-forth game as both teams struggled to find their rhythm due to some tough defense. With the score tied at 16-16 at the 10:20 mark, Cobleskill made their move scoring 10 straight points to take a 26-16 lead with 7:04 left in the half. Greene and Long played a major role in fueling the run. The Tigers extended their lead to 13 points, 36-23, after a made free throw from Oxley. Cobleskill closed out the first half with a 38-27 lead over Elmira.
At the half, Long led the Tigers with nine points (4-7 FG%) while Pigott's added six points and four rebounds. For Elmira, Tyler Cardello led the soaring eagles with seven points and seven rebounds.
Cobleskill wasted no time and used their speed to push the tempo and extend their lead to 14 points, 46-32, with 18:47 to play. Elmira fought back and closed the lead to only five points, 49-45, after a made free throw from Cardello. Cobleskill then used three pointers by Long and Pigott to fuel a 10-0 run to reclaim a commanding 59-44 lead with 14:47 left. From that point Cobleskill never looked back and extended their lead to 75-59 at the 7:41 mark. The Tigers iced the game with late game free throws and ended the game with a 98-86 road win.
The Fighting Tigers shot 56.9 percentage from the field compared to Elmira's 42.1 percent. The Fighting Tigers dominated the transition game outrunning and outscoring Hartwick 27-8 in fast break points. The Tigers also scored 58 points in the paint compared to Elmira's 48. Elmira held the rebounding advantage 40-39.

th, as they travel to SUNY Plattsburgh for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
