Cobleskill, N.Y.: The road turned rocky for the SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team on Saturday evening as the Fighting Tigers fell to the host Cardinals of Plattsburgh State by a 73-69 tally in non-league action. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 3-2 overall on the season while the Cardinals are now 1-3 overall on the year.
Â
The Fighting Tigers sprinted out to a 37-23 halftime advantage and even held a 16-point lead early in the second half before the home team began a comeback effort that saw them tie the game at 64-64 with 4:14 remaining in regulation.
Â
After the team's traded leads, Cobleskill took a 67-66 lead with 2:41 left to play when sophomore swingman
Chace Peterson, Troy, N.Y., Troy High School, canned a pair of free throws.
Â
However, the Cardinals responded by converting a pair of three-pointers to take a 72-67 lead from which gave them the cushion they needed to secure the win aided in no small part by 25 Fighting Tiger turnovers on the evening.

Sophomore guard
Kobe Long, Rochester, N.Y., Bishop McQuade High School, led the Orange & Black in scoring with 25 points to go with six rebounds while senior point guard
