Troy, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team extended their season opening winning streak to five games on Monday evening as the Fighting Tigers posted a 58-51 road win over the host Gators of Russell Sage College in non-league action. With the victory the Fighting Tigers improve to 5-0 overall on the season to date while the Gators fall to 1-4 overall on the year.

Logan Thayne, Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Hoosick Falls High School, took over the contest scoring 14 of her 23 points in the second half as Cobleskill used a distinct advantage in the paint to our score the home team 18-to-7 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Thayne posted a double/double on the evening with game highs of 23 points and 15 rebounds to go with a blocked shot while junior forward
Cara Walker, Phelps, N.Y., Midlakes High School, hit for 15 points to go with eight rebounds and three steals with sophomore center/forward
Emily Satterday, Latham, N.Y., Shaker High School, contributing seven points and 12 rebounds in a reserve role.
Cobleskill also received strong play from junior point guard
Taylor Meacham, Berne, N.Y., Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School, who had eight points, four assists and two rebounds and senior forward
Hannah Cater, Schoharie, N.Y., Schoharie High School, who had six points and five rebounds on the night.
Cobleskill will return to action on Tuesday November 28 when they travel to Quincy, Mass to open the 2023-24 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) versus the Lions of Eastern Nazarene College with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
