Marcy, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team solidified their hold on first place in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Western Division standings by sweeping the host Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute by scores of 16-1 and 11-10 in eight innings in conference action on Tuesday afternoon. With the sweep the Fighting Tigers even their overall record at 10-10 overall including a 5-0 record in conference action while the Wildcats are now 7-16 overall with a 1-5 record versus league opponents.
Playing in their first warm weather since their return from Florida over the spring break, the Fighting Tiger bats turned hot in the opener as Cobleskill jumped to an early 10-0 lead after two innings and never looked back as the visitors pounded out 15 hits and had 10 runners reach base by either walk or by being hit by a pitch.

Sophomore designated hitter Dylan Pohl, East Meadow, N.Y., East Meadow High School, was also a factor in the win going 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI with sophomore catcher
Logan Hutter, Smithtown, N.Y., Smithtown West High School, going 1-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI and sophomore centerfielder
Zach Ducorsky, Oceanside, N.Y., Oceanside Senior High School, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and two RBI.
Staked to a big early lead junior left-hander Christopher Leavey, Kings, Park, N.Y., Kings Park High School, held the Wildcats in check working out of early trouble to post the victory by going five innings allow one earn run on 10 hits, striking out four and walking only one to improve to 1-0 on the season.
In the second game, the Fighting Tigers rallied back from a 7-4 fifth inning deficit to take a 10-8 lead in the top of the seventh. The Wildcats would tie the score in the bottom of the inning on a pair of runs to make it 10-10 heading into the seventh.
After a scoreless seventh inning the two teams headed into extra innings with Cobleskill drawing first blood when with two outs left fielder
Logan Hutter walk then scored on a double into the right center field gap by catcher Dylan Pohl to make it 11-10 Fighting Tigers.
Junior reliever
Jordan Stone, Cohoes, N.Y., Cohoes High School, then worked his way in and out of trouble in the bottom of the inning to record the victory after posting 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.
Dylan Pohl turned in a stellar effort at the plate going 2-for-4 at the plate with the game winning double and three RBI while junior shortstop
David Flora, Windsor, N.Y., Windsor High School, went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and four RBI.
The Orange & Black will return to action on Wednesday April 12 when they host the Hawks of SUNY New Paltz at Fighting Tiger Field beginning at 4:00 p.m.
