Cobleskill Drops Home Opener to Potsdam

Freshman Adam Champlin records six saves in the loss

Cobleskill, NY: The Fighting Tigers opened their home schedule with a 4-0 defeat to visiting SUNY Potsdam.  Cobleskill falls to 0-2 on the season, while the Bears of SUNY Potsdam improve to 2-0.

Both teams exchanged chances in the first 30 minutes of the game before Justin Mossey found the back of the net off a cross at the 33:37 mark.  Then late in the first half the Fighting Tigers had a chance to tie the game after the referee awarded Cobleskill a penalty kick, but Potsdam's Ian Schwartz stepped up and denied senior Nicholas DePaulo from the spot.

The visitors used two early second half goals in the 51st minute and 54th minutes from Jake Trubia and Zach Cunningham to secure the victory for Potsdam.  The visitors added their final goal from Rick Chatland with 38 seconds left in the game.

Junior Conor Flanigan recorded a shot on target for Cobleskill, while freshman Adam Champlin made six saves on the evening for the Fighting Tigers.
