SUNY Cobleskill Men's Soccer Out Battled by Morrisville State 2-0 in Conference Play

Fighting Tigers Drop 2-0 Decision to League Rival Morrisville State on Saturday

Morrisville, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team traveled to Morrisville State College on Saturday for the first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) meeting between the two long-time rivals since the host Mustangs joined the league this year with the home team taking a 2-0 decision from the visitors. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 1-5-1 overall with a 0-2 record in league action while the Mustangs improve to 3-5-1 including a 3-0 record in league action.

While the two program's league affiliations may have changed, the game was what fans have come to expect from the two programs as the hard-hitting defensive struggle was scoreless until the 52nd minute when the Mustangs tallied on their home turf to make it 1-0.

Morrisville then scored an insurance goal in the 87th minute to make it 2-0 to claim the conference home contest.

Cobleskill goalkeeper Adam Champlin, South Kortright, N.Y., South Kortright High School, recorded six saves on the afternoon for the Orange & Black.

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday September 30 when they host the Badgers of Vermont State College-Johnson (VTSJ) in NAC action with kick-off slated for 3:30 p.m.
