Delhi, NY: The Cobleskill men's basketball team used a team effort as four players score in double figures to help them pick up a 76-67 conference divisional road win over SUNY Delhi. The Fighting Tigers improve to 11-7 on the season and 6-2 in the conference while the Broncos of Delhi fall to 10-6 overall and 5-2 in the conference.
It was sophomore
Kobe Long (Rochester, NY/McQuaid Jesuit) that led Cobleskill with a game-high 23 points on 7-13 shooting and a 4-8 from the three-point range. Senior
Andre Starks (Brooklyn, NY/Adams Street Academy) added 11 points and four rebounds while sophomore
Quanire Greene (Albany, NY/ Bishop Maginn) and
Devin Dennard (Elmira, NY/ Elmira) scored 14 points each giving the Fighting Tigers big minutes off the bench. Big man
Markel Jenkins (Elmira, NY/Elmira) finished with a game-high nine rebounds.
Cobleskill jumped out to an early 13-8 lead after
Jeremy Rosario (Colonie, NY/ Colonie) finished in the paint, assisted by Jenkins. Both teams exchanged small runs of their own in a fast tempo first half and found themselves tied 19-19 at the 9:47 mark. The game saw five more ties during the half until Cobleskill jumped out to a 35-32 lead thanks to a layup by Jenkins, assisted by Long. Two made free throws by Greene gave the Fighting Tigers a 37-32 lead at the end of the half.
At the half, Long led the Tigers with 11 points (4-6 FG%) while Greene added eight points. Jenkins was a force in the paint grabbing four rebounds and disrupting several shots in the paint. For Delhi, Marven Louissaint and Gustarling Louis led the broncos with eight points each,
With Delhi leading 38-37, the Fighting Tigers used a 17-3 run to swing momentum in their favor and take control of the game with a 54-41 lead with 12:09 to play. The broncos cut the lead to five points, 54-49, but Cobleskill answered the bell and pushed their lead back to 11 points, 63-52 thanks to a fastbreak jumper by Starks.
Cobleskill stayed on the attacked and extended their lead to 18 points, 74-58, after Greene knocked down a three-pointer.
Kobe Long iced the game with two made free throws with 2:19 left in the half to keep the Fighting Tigers lead to 18 points, 76-58. Delhi attempted to mount a comeback, but Cobleskill's defense stepped up to the challenge. The Tigers closed out the game for a 76-67 road win.
The Fighting Tigers shot 45.1 percentage from the field and an impressive 8-18 from deep. Cobleskill punished the broncos scoring 18 points off turnovers which helped them win the fast break battle 16-9.

rd, as they hit the road for a non-conference contest at Williams College starting at 7:00 p.m.
