Williamstown, Mass.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team returned to action on Tuesday evening taking to the road to fall to the number 15
th nationally ranked Ephs of Williams College by a 73-53 margin in non-league action. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 11-8 overall on the campaign while the Ephs improve to 15-4 overall on the year.
Playing against the nationally ranked Ephs, the Fighting Tigers trailed 30-20 at the half before the home team opened the second half on a 20-to-6 run to make it 50-26 at the 11:16 mark in the half to cement the victory.
The home team used a distinct size advantage to dominate the backboards and the paint as Williams held a 45-34 advantage on the glass while outscoring Cobleskill in the paint by a 32-16 margin and by a 14-4 total in second chance points.
The Fighting Tigers were led in scoring by senior guard
Andre Starks, Rochester, N.Y., Fairport High School/Corning Community College, who had a team high 12 points to go with three rebounds and two steals with sophomore guard
Kobe Long, Rochester, N.Y., McQuaid Jesuit High School, chipping in 11 points, five rebounds and two blocked shots on the night.
Cobleskill will return to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Friday January 26 when they host the Badgers of Vermont State University at the Iorio Gymnasium with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
