Mahwah, NJ: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team faced a tough challenge on the road, falling 4-0 to Ramapo College in non-conference play.
Despite the loss, reigning NAC Defensive Player of the Week, goalkeeper
Samantha Rotundo (New Egypt, NJ), delivered an outstanding performance in her home state, recording 24 saves—a new season-high for the Fighting Tigers. Facing constant pressure from Ramapo, who fired 41 shots with 29 on target, Rotundo's efforts helped keep Cobleskill within striking distance throughout much of the game.
Ramapo struck early with a goal just 1:45 into the match, and although Cobleskill fought hard defensively, they struggled to generate offense against a solid Ramapo defense. The Tigers managed only two shots on goal, one each from
Jessica Carney (Hopkinton, NH) and
Kayleigh Bryant (Schenevus, NY). Ramapo added three more goals in the second half to secure the win.
Cobleskill returns to action on Sunday, October 20th, when they host North Atlantic Conference opponent VTSU-Johnson for Senior Day at 2:30 p.m.
