Cobleskill Suffers 3-0 Road Defeat to SUNY Delhi

Gosselin Records 16 Saves in Strong Defensive Showing

Delhi, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team faced a tough challenge on Tuesday night, falling 3-0 to SUNY Delhi in a road conference matchup.

Cobleskill goalkeeper Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY) delivered another impressive performance in net with 16 saves, keeping the Fighting Tigers competitive against Delhi's numerous attacks.

Delhi applied pressure throughout, recording 36 total shots, including 19 on goal, and dominating corner kick opportunities with a 7-0 advantage.

Delhi broke through in the 29th minute when Riley Schmidt found the back of the net with an unassisted strike. The home team added two more goals just before halftime—an unassisted shot by Ava Britsch at the 43:38 mark, followed by a penalty kick less than a minute later.

Offensively, Cobleskill struggled to break through Delhi's defense, managing two shots in the game, one of which was on target by Erin Hensel (Niskayuna, NY). Delhi's defense was largely untested, as goalkeeper Abigial Allen made just one save on the day.

Cobleskill's defense, led by Gosselin, stood firm, particularly in the second half, where they prevented any further scoring despite Delhi's sustained offensive pressure.

The Fighting Tigers return to action this weekend as they travel to SUNY ESF on Saturday, October 12th, for a non-conference matchup at 1:00 p.m.
