Waterville, ME: The SUNY Cobleskill men's cross country team has been ranked fourth in the 2024 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Pre-Championship Coaches Poll. The NAC Championships will be held this Saturday on the campus of SUNY Delhi, with the men's 8K race set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
This season, the Fighting Tigers recorded three second-place finishes at the Castleton Invitational, the Steven A. Ward Invitational, and the Bronco Classic.
The team will look to the strong efforts of
Nik Recore (Peru, NY) and
Daniel Jaffin (Woodbury, Conn./Nonnewaug) to lead the way. Recore, a 2023 Second Team All-Conference honoree, claimed victory at the Castleton Invitational with a time of 28:46 over the 8K course and has consistently finished in the top 10 in all five meets this season. His season highlights include a ninth-place finish at the NAC Preview (29:08) and a tenth-place finish at the Gold Bear Invitational, where he clocked 27:26. Jaffin has also delivered, securing two top-10 finishes, with an 18th place at the NAC Preview and a 17th place at the Fred Pavlich Invitational (31:36.4).
Estaban Delgado (New Rochelle, NY) has contributed strong performances for the Fighting Tigers, including a seventh-place finish at the Steven A. Ward Invitational and a 16th-place showing at the NAC Preview Meet.
