Cobleskill Rides to Reserve Champion Finish at Skidmore College Show

Mackenzie Caldwell Claims "Ride of the Day" as Cobleskill Riders Shine in Over Fences and Flat Events

Saratoga Springs, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill equestrian hunt seat team earned an impressive finish at the Skidmore College Show, capturing Reserve Champion honors for the day. 

Leading the way, second-year rider Mackenzie Caldwell (Baldwinsvile, NY/Charles W. Baker) claimed a first-place finish over fences and a second place on the flat, also earning the event's "Ride of the Day" for her standout performance. Casey Van Nostrand (Guilderland, NY) and Sage Badman (Fabius, NY/Fabius-Pompey) added strong showings with Van Nostrand finishing third over fences and second on the flat, and Badman securing third over fences and second on the flat as well.

Erin Hayes (Holland, NY/St. Mary's) brought home second over fences and fourth on the flat, while Sophia Scalia-Palladino (Pine Bush, NY) rode consistently to finish third in both over fences and on the flat. Oksana Wynnick (Champlain, NY/Northeastern Clinton) also posted a solid showing, taking second over fences and fifth on the flat.

Other notable performances included Samantha Williams (Owego, NY/Chenango Forks) with a sixth place over fences and Amber Reilly (Morris, NY), who came in fifth over fences. Alexandra Covert (Brockport, NY), Margaret Koenig (Holland Patent, NY), Madalynn Jurenko (Central Square, NY/Paul V. Moore), and Ava Eddy (Salt Point, NY/FDR) each placed in the top five on the flat, while Alyse Bechtold (Oneonta, NY) claimed a first-place finish on the flat. Ceilia McFarland (Kingston, NY) added a fourth-place finish on the flat, rounding out a successful day for Cobleskill.

The Reserve Champion finish highlights the team's depth and skill across the board, with multiple riders placing in top positions in each class.
