Arlington, VA: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team secured a decisive 65-56 victory over Baruch College, powered by
Logan Thayne's dominant double-double of 25 points and 21 rebounds.
Thayne (Hoosick Falls, NY) controlled the game on both ends, grabbing 10 offensive and 11 defensive rebounds while shooting 10-for-22 from the field, including 4-for-7 from deep. Guard
Antonia May (Amsterdam, NY) added a stellar double-double of her own with 14 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, and two assists, going a perfect 6-for-6 from the line.
Taylor Meacham (Berne, NY/BKW) contributed 13 points, four assists, and six rebounds, hitting clutch free throws down the stretch, while
Annie Canales (North Adams, Mass./Hoosac Valley) chipped in 10 points and six boards.
Cobleskill dominated the stat sheet, outrebounding Baruch 69-42 and scoring 26 points in the paint. Their relentless effort on the boards led to 25 second-chance points, key to overcoming a shooting percentage of just 29.3 percent. The Tigers also moved the ball effectively, recording 14 assists as a team. Cobleskill's defense held firm, limiting Baruch to just 24.3 percent shooting from the floor and 20 precent from beyond the arc. Cobleskill also capitalized on fast breaks, scoring nine points in transition.
After a slow start for both teams, Cobleskill took an 11-8 lead in the first quarter behind Thayne's eight points. A 12-2 run in the second quarter, sparked by May's tip-in at 6:57, gave the Tigers a 32-23 halftime edge. Cobleskill extended their lead to 21 points in the third quarter, highlighted by Thayne's three-pointer assisted by Meacham at the 2:01 mark.
Baruch made a late push in the fourth, narrowing the gap to 59-55. However, Thayne responded with a dagger three-pointer with 1:38 remaining, assisted by May. Meacham's clutch free throws sealed the victory as Cobleskill improved to 5-1 on the season.

Logan Thayne was named to the Pablo Coto All-Tournament team for her outstanding performances in both games. For the two-game tournament, she averaged 21 points, 15.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from three-point range.
Cobleskill returns to action on Tuesday, November 26, as they travel to SUNY Oneonta for a 6:30 p.m. tip-off.
