Auburndale, Fl.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team opened their annual spring break Florida road trip on Sunday afternoon by winning a rollercoaster contest from the Mammoths of Amherst College by a 12-8 margin at the 2024 Russmatt Central Florida Invitational. With the win the Fighting Tigers are now 3-8 overall on the season while the Mammoths drop to 2-1 overall on the year.

Jason Treffiletti, Cohoes, N.Y., Shaker High School, got the win in relief going one inning allowing one run on one hit striking out one and walking one to move his record to 1-0 on the year with relief help from first-year reliever
Tyler Scorzelli, Latham, N.Y., Colonie High School, who recorded the game's last out to notch his first collegiate save.
Offensively,
Samuel Gutierrez led the way to the victory going 3-for-5 at the plate with a double, three runs scored and three RBI while senior third baseman
Chris Champlin, Jefferson, N.Y., South Kortright High School, went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, two runs scored and a pair of RBI on the afternoon.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Monday March 18 when they meet the Road Runners of Ramapo College for a doubleheader at the Russmatt Central Florida Invitational beginning at 12:00 p.m.
