Farmingdale, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team took to the road on Tuesday afternoon making the trip to Long Island to out slug the host Rams of SUNY Farmingdale in non-league action by a 19-11 margin. With the victory the Fighting Tigers improve to 2-4 overall on the campaign while the Rams are now 0-2 overall on the year.
The Fighting Tigers took and early 3-0 in the top of the first inning when with one out and runners on second and third senior
Samuel Gutierrez, Queens, N.Y., Martin Van Buren High School/Queens Community College, slammed a three-run homer to centerfield for the visitors. Then with Cobleskill leading 3-1 in the top of the third with senior third baseman
David Flora, Windsor, N.Y., Windsor High School/Herkimer Community College, Gutierrez slugged a two-run homer over the right field wall to make it 5-1.
After the Rams rallied in the bottom of the third to tie the contest at 5-5 the Fighting Tigers erupted for five runs in the top fourth to take a 10-5 lead only to have Farmingdale score four times to make it 10-9 after four completed frames.
Down the stretch the Fighting Tigers outscored their hosts by a 9-1 tally highlighted by an eighth inning three-run inside-the-park home run from
David Flora which put the game out of reach and finalized the margin of victory.

Cobleskill will return to action on Friday March 8 when they host the Garnett Chargers of Union College in non-league action in a non-league contest to be played under the lights at Schoharie High School's Storm Field in Schoharie, N.Y. with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
