SUNY Cobleskill Baseball Suffers 21-2 Non-League Loss to Union College

Fighting Tiger Baseball Falls to Union College Garnett Chargers 21-2


 
Schoharie, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team took to the turf at Schoharie High School's Storm Field on Friday evening to drop a 21-2 decision to the visiting Garnett Chargers of Union College in non-league action. With the defeat the Fighting Tigers are now 2-5 overall on the season while the Garnett Chargers improve to 4-0 on the year to date.
 
The Garnett Chargers broke the contest open in the fourth inning when they scored eight times to turn a 3-0 lead into an 11-0 advantage and never looked back as Union hitters torched Fighting Tiger pitching for 20 hits on the evening.
 
Fighting Tiger senior first baseman Chris Champlin, Jefferson, N.Y., South Kortright High School, was 1-for-2 with a RBI while junior centerfielder Zach Ducorsky, Oceanside, N.Y., Oceanside High School, went 1-for-4 with a double and a RBI.
 
Cobleskill will next be in action on Saturday, March 9, when they host the Statesmen of Hobart College at SUNY Oneonta's Red Dragon Baseball Field for a pair of non-league contests beginning at 11:00 a.m.
