Oneonta, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team traveled to Oneonta, N.Y. on Saturday to drop a non-league doubleheader to the Statesmen of Hobart College by scores of 9-0 and 9-5 in games played on the turf at SUNY Oneonta's Red Dragon Field. With the losses the Fighting Tigers are now 2-7 overall on the campaign while the Statesmen are now 2-4 on the year.
In the opener the Fighting Tigers struggled to find an answer to Statesmen sophomore right-hander Teck Nash, Cicero, N.Y., Christian Brothers Academy, who limited Cobleskill to only a pair of hits while striking out four and walking two.
Senior third baseman Chris Champlain, Jefferson, N.Y., South Kortright High School, was 1-for-3 on the day for the home team while senior
Anthony Vicinanzo, Amsterdam, N.Y., Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons High School, went 1-for-2 with a walk.
In the nightcap Cobleskill trailed 1-0 in the second inning when with the bases loaded and two out Fighting Tiger Head Coach
Austin Straub gambled and sent in senior
Samuel Gutierrez, Queens, N.Y., Martin Van Buren High School/Queensborough Community College, who promptly cleared the right field fence to make it 4-1.
However, the Statesmen eventually tied the contest at 4-4 with three runs in the third inning which remained the score until the seventh when Hobart victimized Cobleskill relievers for five runs to secure the victory.

Cole Platt, Oneonta, N.Y., Oneonta High School, returned to his hometown to go 2-for-3 with a run scored while sophomore left fielder
Logan Firment, Andes, N.Y., South Kortright High School, went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Senior second baseman
Matthew Snyder, Latham, N.Y., Shaker High School, was also 2-for-3 on the day with double on the day.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Monday March 11 when they travel to Wayne, N.J. for a solo game versus the Pioneers of William Patterson University with first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
