Oneonta, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team lost on Saturday to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) leading SUNY Canton Kangaroos on the turf at SUNY Oneonta All-College Track Field by a 20-7 margin. With the loss the Fighting Tigers drop to 1-7 overall including a 0-4 record in league action while the Kangaroos move to 6-4 overall with a perfect 5-0 record versus league opponents.
The Kangaroos hopped out to an early advantage taking a 6-0 lead after one quarter and a 9-1 lead at the half as Canton dominated the ground balls by a 47-29 margin while forcing the Fighting Tigers into 27 turnovers on the afternoon.
First-year midfielder
Robert Staubitz, East Rockaway, N.Y., East Rockaway High School, had two goals and an assist on the afternoon while junior midfielder
Albert Sippio, Syracuse, N.Y., Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central, also scored a pair of goals on the afternoon.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action over the weekend on Saturday April 20 when they host the Eagles of Husson University for a NAC contest with face-off at 1:00 p.m.
