Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team returned to action on Wednesday afternoon to sweep the visiting Kangaroos of SUNY Canton in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action by scores of 16-8 and 13-2 at Fighting Tiger Field. With the victories the Fighting Tigers move to 9-17 overall on the season including a 5-1 in conference action while the Kangaroos are now 1-22 overall with a 0-5 record versus league opponents.
In the opener the Fighting Tigers out slugged the Kangaroos using a six-run fifth inning to extend a 7-to-6 lead to 13-6 to secure the win behind highlighted by a two-run homer by sophomore left fielder

The Cobleskill offense pounded out 21 hits in the victory led by junior second baseman
Stephen Tejada, Queens, N.Y., High School for Construction Technologies, who went 5-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, senior right fielder
Samuel Gutierrez, Queens, N.Y., Martin Van Buren High School/Queensborough Community College, who went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI and
Logan Firment who went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a homer, three runs scored and two RBI.
In the finale, the Fighting Tigers took advantage of a depleted Kangaroo pitching staff to post 13 runs in a rain shortened five inning contest on 10 hits with five going for extra bases.

Cobleskill will next be in action over the weekend when they travel to Quincy, Massachusetts for a four-game NAC series versus the Lions of Eastern Nazarene College with a doubleheader on Friday April 19 beginning at 3:00 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Saturday April 20 starting at 12:00 p.m.
