Cortland, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill Men's Track and Field competed at the Cortland Classic on Friday and Saturday at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex.
Charles Foote (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) was the Fighting Tigers top finisher over the weekend. The talented second year took a break from his normal 400-meter event and competed in the 400 meter hurdles. He placed third overall with a time of 56.58 seconds.
In a close and exciting 800 meter race, senior
Nick Logan (Queensbury, NY) placed fourth overall out of 49 runners with a time of 1:57.17. His teammate
Nik Recore (Peru, NY) finished ninth in the 3000-meter steeplechase crossing the line at a time of 10:52.16.
Second year hurdler
Kameron Cusmano (Oakfield, NY/Oakfield-Alabama) placed ninth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.37 seconds barely missing out on the final by .1 seconds.
Jeffery Alvarado (Amsterdam, NY) was their top finisher in 100 meters as he placed fifth in the open race with a time of 11.43 seconds.
In the triple jump, first year
Thomas Herberger (Avon, NY) finished 10
th with a leap of 12.45 meters (40-10 ¼) as fellow teammate
Gregory McDonald (Wells, ME) placed 20
th with a jump of 11.98 meters (39-3 ¾).
The 4x100 meter team of McDonald, Alvarado, Foote and
Dylan Colwell (Kindwerhook,NY/Ichabod Crane) placed ninth with a time of 45.40 seconds.
Cal Marks (Wellsburg, NY/Elmira) led Cobleskill in the throwing events with a 22
nd finish in the shot put with a toss of 11.12 meters (36-5 ¾) and a 25
th finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 39.01 meters (128-0).
