Waterville, Maine: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team closed out their 2024 season on Saturday afternoon by dropping an 18-10 decision to the host Terriers of Thomas College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action. With the defeat the Fighting Tigers close the campaign with a 1-11 overall record including a 0-8 mark in conference play while the Terriers end their season with a 2-9 overall record including a 2-6 record versus league opponents.
Once again, the second half proved to be the Fighting Tigers undoing as after trailing 6-5 at the break the host Terriers outscored Cobleskill 12-to-5 in the second half once again dominating the face-off circle by a 29-to-32 margin and winning the battle of the ground balls 51-to-24.
The Fighting Tigers received strong offensive outings from junior midfielder
Albert Sippio, Syracuse, N.Y., Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central, who notched four goals and passed out two assists while picking up three ground balls on the afternoon and from sophomore midfielder
Trevor Masocco, Eden, N.Y., Eden High School, who scored two goals to go with one assist.
In his final Fighting Tiger game, Cobleskill senior attackman
Sean D'Amaro, Northport, N.Y., Northport High School, scored a pair of goals closing out his career as the program's all-time leader in goals scored with 106 goals and the program's all-time leading point scorer with 136 career points.
