Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team hosted the nation's number 24 ranked Red Dragons of SUNY Cortland at Fighting Tiger Field on Wednesday afternoon falling to visitors by an 8-2 margin in non-conference play. With the loss the Fighting Tigers are now 16-21 overall on the year while Cortland improves to 25-10-1 overall.

Red Dragon pitchers controlled the action throughout the afternoon allowing seven hits while striking out 12 hitters and walking no one.

Offensively senior
Samuel Gutierrez, Bayside, N.Y., Martin Van Buren High School/Queensborough Community College, was 2-for-4 on the afternoon with a double and a run scored while junior catcher
Dylan Pohl, East Meadow, N.Y., East Meadow High School, was also 2-for-3 with a double in the contest. Senior second baseman
Matthew Snyder, Latham, N.Y., Shaker High School, was also productive at the plate going 1-for-4 with an RBI.

The Fighting Tigers will close out the 2024 regular season on Sunday May 5 when they host the Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute for a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
