Cobleskill, N.Y.: In the start of a weekend North Atlantic Conference (NAC) series that could have important ramifications on the league's play-off picture, the SUNY Cobleskill softball team swept a doubleheader with the visiting Mustangs of SUNY Morrisville by scores of 6-1 and 10-2 on Friday at Fighting Tiger Park. With the sweep the Fighting Tigers improve to 18-14 overall including a 11-2 record in league action while the Mustangs are now 13-16 overall on the year with a 9-5 record versus league opponents.
In the first game the Fighting Tigers broke the game open with a four-run third inning highlighted by a two-run double by senior first baseman
Alexis Miranda, Nashua, N.H., Nashua High School, a run scoring double by senior left fielder
Emily Lutz, Ellenville, N.Y., Ellenville High School and a run scoring single by first-year right fielder
Jenna Smyczynski, East Aurora, N.Y., East Aurora High School, that extended a 1-0 Cobleskill lead to a 5-0 advantage.
Staked to the lead junior starter
Jaydaci Chamberlain, Northborough, Mass., Norfolk County Agricultural High School, frustrated the Mustangs by working out of several jams to post the victory going the full seven innings allowing one earned run on nine hits while striking out two and walking one.
At the plate junior centerfielder
Alexia Clemons, Beaver Falls, N.Y., Beaver River High School, went 3-for-3 from the lead-off spot with a walk, a double and a pair of runs scored while
Emily Lutz was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.
Jenna Smyczynski was also a factor offensively going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
In the nightcap Cobleskill used an aggressive attack on the bases scoring five runs on eight Mustang wild pitches to secure the victory.
Making a double start on the mound for the first time this year
Jaydaci Chamberlain posted the victory to improve to 10-2 overall on the season holding the visitors to one run on six hits striking out two and walking two.

Alexia Clemons continued to do damage from the lead-off spot going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks, three runs scored, a stolen base and an RBI with first-year second baseman
Kylie Rattigan, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Arlington High School, going 1-for-2 with a walk, a double, two runs scored and a pair of RBI.
The Orange & Black will close out their weekend series and the regular season on Saturday, May 4, with a doubleheader versus the Mustangs at Fighting Tiger Park beginning at 12:00 p.m. It will be Senior Day with a ceremony held between games honoring the graduating members of the Fighting Tigers.
