Ray Whelihan had high words of praise for Palmer on her character, her academic achievements and her athletic accomplishments along with her relationship with the animal athletes she works with.
"Caroline has demonstrated the work ethic, resilience and perseverance required to complete an Associates in Agricultural Business and a Bachelors of Technology in Animal Science in five semesters with a grade point average of 3.97. Caroline received the overall Varsity Scholar Athlete award this year due to her commitment and success academically while anchoring the Varsity Equestrian Team to one of our most successful seasons ever. Horses are an excellent judge of a person's character and do not appreciate arrogance and egotism, often serving as a mirror to ourselves. Caroline's success in getting the most out of the college's transformative experience is integrated with her horsemanship success through her centered, quiet study, intuitive observations, empathy for living things, and analysis without judgment."
